Terms of use

Using the images

Each image carries its own licence, shown on its detail page. Personal use — as a wallpaper, a print for yourself, a social post, a school or work presentation — is allowed for every image in the library.

Commercial use depends on the licence of the specific image. Some Wikimedia Commons files are published under CC BY or CC BY-SA, which allow commercial use provided you credit the author and, for BY-SA, keep the same licence. Check the licence before you use an image in something you sell.

You may not resell unmodified images as stock photography, nor may you claim authorship of a photograph you did not take. Quote cards and original artwork are published under the Free HD Wallpapers Licence, which allows personal and commercial use but not the redistribution of the source files as a competing library.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to scrape the site at scale, to bypass the advertising, to inject scripts into the pages, or to use automated systems to generate traffic. Do not misrepresent Free HD Wallpapers as the source of an image that came from elsewhere.

We may remove pages, restrict access or change the site at any time, and we may stop publishing any given image if a licensing question arises.

Advertising

Free HD Wallpapers displays third-party advertising. We do not control the content of the ads or of the sites they link to, and we are not responsible for that content or for anything those sites do with your data. If you see an ad that seems inappropriate, tell us and we will pass it on to the network.

Liability

The site is provided as is. We do not guarantee that every image is error-free or that the site will always be available. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
