A Soldier Lying Down by Theo van Doesburg… cat wallpaper Full HD

This is A Soldier Lying Down by Theo van Doesburg…, a quiet cat wallpaper built around cream and cream tones. The frame is composed for 16:9, which is why it reads well on desktop without pushing the subject out of shot.

Everything you can see is part of the original file: 1920 × 1125 pixels in JPG (401 KB). Nothing is upscaled, and the colours were sampled straight from the picture, so what you download is what you saw in the grid.

The palette leans towards cream and cream, and that makes it easy to build an interface around it. A lock screen works particularly well here, because the tones never fight with whatever you put in front of them.

How to use it

To use it, download the file, open it on your device and choose the option to set it as the background. If your system crops the edges, use the 16:9 version from the collection or turn the zoom off so the full frame stays visible.

How to make the most of it

• For a dual-monitor setup, use this one on the screen you read from and a flatter image on the screen you only glance at.
• Pair it with a system accent colour that matches cream and cream so the wallpaper and the interface read as one design instead of two.
• On a phone, place the subject in the upper half so your clock and notification stack do not cover the focal point.

What you get

You get a 1920 × 1125 JPG file (16:9, 401 KB). It is large enough for a desktop screen and for printing up to 20 × 30 cm, and it is compressed for the web so that it still loads quickly on a mobile connection.
