This is Rembrandt - Negress Lying Down, 1658, a dramatic cat wallpaper built around cream and charcoal tones. The frame is composed for 16:9, which is why it reads well on phone without pushing the subject out of shot.
Everything you can see is part of the original file: 1920 × 1119 pixels in JPG (1017 KB). Nothing is upscaled, and the colours were sampled straight from the picture, so what you download is what you saw in the grid.
The palette leans towards cream and charcoal, and that makes it easy to build an interface around it. A laptop that greets you every morning works particularly well here, because the tones never fight with whatever you put in front of them.
How to use it
To use it, download the file, open it on your device and choose the option to set it as the background. If your system crops the edges, use the 16:9 version from the collection or turn the zoom off so the full frame stays visible.
Styling tips
- For a dual-monitor setup, use this one on the screen you read from and a flatter image on the screen you only glance at.
- Print it on matte paper: the cream and charcoal tones stay clean, while glossy paper exaggerates the highlights and washes the darks out.
- On a phone, place the subject in the upper half so your clock and notification stack do not cover the focal point.
Download options
The file is served at 1920 × 1119 (16:9) in JPG format, so you can print it up to 16 × 9 in or use it as a phone background without upscaling. The smaller preview is a separate optimised copy, while the full-size download keeps the original detail.
